Conceived by leadership throughout the organization and developed in 2013, our Cornerstones for Life establish a set of 7 non-negotiable expectations at our jobsites. They provide our employees, contractors, and visitors with extra focus on potentially high-risk activities where we believe failure to follow these rules could lead to a much higher probability of serious injury or fatality.

These Cornerstones have become engrained into our culture. Our employees are exposed to them during new hire orientation, on-the-job training, pre-tour meetings, and pre-job meetings. We validate the health of their understanding, implementation, and use through jobsite visits and regional reviews.

We thoroughly investigate each reported violation of these non-negotiable expectations in order to learn from the breakdown in our process, and we are proud of the Company’s willingness to make tough (and at times unpopular) decisions in order to protect our employees.

These Cornerstones for Life are tailored for our contract drilling and pressure pumping businesses:

• Utilize our Permission to Work process without fail.
• Follow our Fall Protection Policy.
• Properly isolate energy to equipment when appropriate.
• Follow appropriate Management of Change protocols.
• Take appropriate precautions when working around overhead power lines.
• Wear seatbelts when operating a Company vehicle or forklift.
• Ensure that appropriately sized tubular handling equipment is utilized.
